   Esta fabulosa soprano alemã (Brandenburg) Charlote Lehmann, iniciou-se profissionalmente em 1910, na Ópera de Hamburgo e, em 1916 na Ópera de Viena, Richard Strauss, encantado com sua interpretação, convida-a para cantar na estréia mundial da ópera  Ariadne auf Naxos.
   "Ainda na fase vienense de sua carreira, Lehmann adentra no seleto repertório de lied alemão, realizando inclusive algumas gravações. Com o amadurecimento nessa seara, Lehmann se tornaria conhecida como uma das intérpretes mais vibrantes e expressivas desse gênero de canções, sendo muitas de suas gravações até hoje tidas como clássicos."   "Soprano Lotte Lehmann (born on 27 February 1888, Germany; died on 26 August 1976 USA) made her operatic debut at the Hamburg Opera in 1910 and sang her last recital in August 1951. Creator of roles by Strauss and Korngold, Lehmann fled the Nazis, emigrated to the United States in 1938. A founder of the Music Academy of the West in California, Lehmann was a profoundly influential teacher, a published author, poet, and painter. Her recorded legacy spans 500 releases.
